With Palatka roots, April Annis founded her first school there in August 2011 called Round Lake Academy. It was located inside of a church and very well received by the community.

In love with the direction of her childcare career, April branched out July 1st, 2012 when she opened the doors to Lighthouse Prep. It debuted as a newly renovated Christian Preparatory School.

2013 was a time for updates. Lighthouse Prep got a new main facility with a building that includes new offices and an indoor gym.

2014 meant a time for growth for Round Lake Academy when it moved to a new, bigger location. Admittedly, leaving the church was hard but having that foundation has been such an inspiration for success.
